Owen Marine Marketing has a fast chase boat based in the Solent area for customer support. The Fairey Swordsman 'Sonnet', a classic 1968 all mahogany, race bred powerboat with a pair of 300hp diesels which produces a top speed of over 30 knots, is the ideal platform for yacht photography and video shoots, from underway sequences to lifestyle/toys, the deep-v design provides a stable platform. Many clients route their yachts from northern Europe and from Channel ports though the Solent to allow Roy Roberts and his team of photographers the opportunity to get the first underway images for PR and editorials.

Chase photography, whether from a fast motorboat or helicopter requires a thorough knowledge of boat and aircraft handling. Roy Roberts has had a fast motor yacht for marine photography for over 30 years. Roy also held a fixed wing pilots licence for over 15 years with extensive helicopter flying as well. With helicopter work, this experience creates cost savings in helicopter time through clear and accurate instructions from the passenger area to the pilot.

Roy Roberts is a member of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club, Fairey Owners Club and the Cowes Offshore Powerboat Owners Club. Owen Marine Marketing belongs to the BMF, Superyacht UK and is a lifetime corporate member of the recently re-named Professional Yachting Association (PYA) which he was a founding father.
