After graduating with a fine art degree from Southampton, Owen founder Roy Roberts enjoyed a 'first career' with over three years as a professional musician, playing and touring with the recording band The MeddyEVILS.
Roy comments ''after signing with Tony Hatch at PYE Records, famous for his Petula Clark song 'Downtown' and other memorable songs of this period, having the status of a 'signed' band with record releases, we had a great time appearing on the bill all over the UK with many of the most famous bands and stars of the time, The Who, Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton, Ronnie Wood, Jeff Beck and Fleetwood Mac, being just some of the top names we met and played with on the road.
Pictured here is Roy Roberts with John Cahilane (right), the singer with 'The Carnaby' who made the charts with their cult record in 1966, 'Jump and dance'. The compilation CD we are holding (also released some time ago on vinyl) currently on sale, features 'The Carnaby' and 'the meddyEVILS' along with David Bowie and the Troggs!
Youtube now feature meddyEVILS singles.

When video, radio and TV commercial work became part of the Owen mix, these musical skills joined with other musicians and sound engineers to produce bespoke sound tracks for our many productions.
Roy has digital recording facilities and a collection of musical instruments including a considerable guitar collection, including Gibson's, Fenders, Gretch's and all the other top brands dating from the early 'sixty's .
Mixing creative visual skills with musical knowledge and an accurate feel for timing has had a major impact on the effectiveness of the end product.
