After graduating with a fine art degree from Southampton, Owen founder Roy Roberts enjoyed a short career spending three years as a professional musician, playing and touring with the recording band The MeddyEVILS. Roy comments ''after signing with Tony Hatch at PYE, who was famous for his Petula Clark song 'Downtown', we had a great time appearing on the bill all over the UK with many of the most famous groups of the time, plus TV and radio appearances...living the 'sixties life to the full''.
The two singles recorded in 1965 and 1966 ('B' sides written by Roy) have become 'mod legends' according to the many fanzines and online mod forums currently circulating. The two singles fetch record sums as collectors items and at least two books on the 1960's UK 'groups' feature the Meddy Evils, one being published in Canada!
Several compilation CD's featuring '60's bands are currently available featuring MeddyEvils tracks.
Youtube now feature meddyEVILS singles. Have a listen!.
